SPOTLIGHT ON: Livne White 2018 Bridal Collection
The stunning offering draws inspiration from the late, great American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe’s artistic floral still lifes. Livne named each bridal gown after a specific bloom and/or woman.
Mapplethorpe became known for his highly stylized black and white photography and delicate, yet larger-than-life portrayal of flowers.
Livne’s 2018 collection is a homage to the artist, paying tribute to his elegant aesthetics with a series of dresses characterized by clean and feminine lines, delicate lace and beading, silk fabrics and the utmost in tailoring techniques.
The collection also includes a pantsuit for bold and brave brides, an off-the-shoulder gown with detailed lace blouson sleeves and a design made entirely of lace with long sleeves trailing all the way up the neck making for an unexpectedly stunning ruffled turtleneck.
“The new collection is something very different in the local landscape – these are dresses you can see on women who associate with fashion, and fashion lovers,” says Livne.
Indeed, the series is a winning trifecta of worlds – blending art, couture, and fashion all in one beautiful sweep.
